It is backed with a padded cotton layer. Made in the 1930s, these "dribble bibs" were meant to protect baby's finer clothing. This bib closes with a tiny shell button and loop. This would be a perfect accessory with any of the heirloom or classic dresses for a christening or other important occasion. Vintage/Heirloom Size newborn to 6 months 7" across 8 1/2" top to bottom
