This beautiful white cotton batiste dress was hand made in Madeira, Portugal in the 1930s. It features tiny pintucking both front and back and incredible embroidery on the bodice and above the scalloped hem. The neckline is finished with scalloped embroidery and delicate floral detailing. Gusseted pleats under the arms add fullness to the dress which closes in the back with two tiny buttons. The short puffed sleeves are finished with scalloped cuffs. A truly beautiful example of Madeira's finest embroidery!
