This beautiful white cotton batiste dress was hand made in Madeira, Portugal in the 1930s. It features tiny pintucking both front and back and incredible embroidery on the bodice and above the scalloped hem. The neckline is finished with scalloped embroidery and delicate floral detailing. The dress closes in the back with two tiny bone buttons. The short puffed sleeves are finished with scalloped cuffs and the hem is finished with scalloped embroidery. The simple white batiste slip has scalloped embroidery edging the neckline, armholes, and hem. It closes on the shoulder with a tiny button. This elegant little dress is a truly beautiful example of Madeira's finest embroidery!
